20 people brought to hospital after leak of unidentified gas

The incident occurred at the Dublin City Council’s material recovery unit off Ballymount Lane this morning.

AROUND 20 PEOPLE were hospitalised due to the leak of an unidentified gas at a Dublin City Council building this morning.

A spokesperson from Dublin Fire Brigade said they received a call at about 8.15am this morning, leading them to send out five units and two emergency ambulances.

She said around 20 people were subsequently brought to hospital. A decontamination unit worked on the scene to make it safe.

The location was Dublin City Council’s material recovery unit near Ballymount Lane.
