The 27-year-old was shot in the Kilnacourt Woods housing estate this morning.

GARDAÍ IN PORTARLINGTON are appealing for witnesses as part of their investigation into the murder of 27-year-old local man Gerard Eglington.

The victim was shot at the Kilnacourt Woods housing estate at about 8.30am today. He was taken to Tullamore General Hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.
