Gerry McCann's sister: His body was found and he's gone to heaven now

McCann’s eldest sister told Joe Duffy on Liveline that the actor was a “beautiful person, inside and out”.

THE FAMILY OF actor Gerry McCann has confirmed that the body found on Dollymount Beach yesterday was that of the father of two.

Speaking to Joe Duffy on RTÉ’s Liveline today, his eldest sister Helene O’Cleary said his body was found yesterday and “he’s gone to heaven now”.

The man’s sister spoke fondly of him as “the jewel in our crown”, telling Duffy that the 47-year-old was “beautiful, inside and out”.

Yesterday morning, a member of the public found the man’s body on Dollymount Beach. Gardaí have said it will still take a number of days to formally identify him with dental records but all searches for the missing man have been stepped down.
