Gluten found in 'gluten free' Tesco brownies

The supermarket chain is now recalling all batches of the brownie bars.

THE FOOD SAFETY Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has said undeclared gluten has been found in batches of Tesco ‘gluten free’ brownie bars.

The supermarket chain is now recalling all batches of its ‘Free From’ 4 Chocolate Flavoured Brownie Cake Bars after cereals containing gluten were found to be contained in multiple batches.

“This product is labelled as gluten free and therefore it may be unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of cereals containing gluten,” the FSAI said today.
