Looks like Senator Fidelma Healy Eames believes that Wi-Fi is pronounced 'wiffy'

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

wiffy

REMEMBER SENATOR FIDELMA Healy Eames?

The Galway senator came to notoriety earlier this year when she posited that the passage of same sex marriage in Ireland would signal the end of Mother’s Day.

She also memorably defined fraping as “where you’re raped on Facebook”.

Last night, however, she may have just outdone herself.

During a Seanad debate on internet safety, Healy Eames was discussing the importance of WiFi and social media in the lives of young people when she committed an unthinkable gaffe.

Reader, she pronounced WiFi as “whiffy”.

OH, FIDELMA.

So many questions. Has she always pronounced it this way and nobody has ever had the heart to correct her? Was it an accidental slip?

Needless to say, it has tickled everyone.

Poor Fidelma.
