Heavy snow causing dangerous driving conditions ahead of Storm Henry

Heavy snow on the N2 Dublin Monaghan road is causing hazardous driving conditions this evening.

HEAVY SNOW IS causing dangerous driving conditions in Monaghan this evening, with gardaí warning motorists to travel with care.

It comes as a status yellow national weather alert has been issued ahead of Storm Henry, which is due to hit on Monday.

Met Éireann says the storm will generate very strong winds over Ireland, especially in coastal counties of Connacht and Ulster.

The weather warning will come into effect on Monday evening at 7pm and remain in place until 9am on Tuesday. A more detailed wind forecast will be available tomorrow.
