GARDAÍ HAVE MADE a significant seizure of heroin in an operation targeting drug trafficking in the midlands.

Two searches were carried out yesterday by detectives from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau. The first was of a car in Crumlin, Dublin 12, yesterday afternoon where €300,000 worth of heroin was seized.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and is currently in custody at Crumlin Garda Station.

This discovery led gardaí to a house in the Killucan area of Co Westmeath.

She is being held at Mullingar Garda Station.
