Man seriously injured in late night hit-and-run

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at Johnstown in Kildare.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING after a man in his 30s was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Kildare during the night.

The incident was reported just after midnight on the Kerdiffstown Road off the N7 at Johnstown outside a popular garden centre.

The man was treated for his injuries by paramedics at the scene before being brought to Naas General Hospital. He has since been transferred to Tallaght Hospital.

Following a technical examination of the scene, investigating officers say they believe he was hit by a vehicle which failed to remain at the scene.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses who may have seen anything in the area between 11.15pm and 00.15am to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884300.
