Fatal hit-and-run: Gardaí looking for info on green Mondeo that failed to stay at scene

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Co Meath.

GARDAÍ IN MEATH have issued a fresh appeal for information on a car that failed to stay at the scene of a crash in Co Meath last Thursday.

Officers have also issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to the crash.

27-year-old Colin Tuite was found with fatal injuries at the side of the Rathmolyon to Summerhill Road at around 8.50pm last Thursday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan.

The driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene, and in their appeal today gardaí said:

It has been established that the vehicle involved in the fatal hit and run road traffic collision on the Summerhill/Rathmolyon Road, known locally as New Road, Summerhill is a dark green Ford Mondeo saloon car manufactured between 2001 & 2007.

Officers are looking to speak to anyone who saw the car in the area before or after the crash, or to any mechanic who has been requested to repair car of this type, “as there will be damage to the front of the car”.
