29 hospitalised after taking hallucinogenic drug at homeopathy conference

Some patients were suffering from breathing problems and delusions.

29 PEOPLE AT a homeopathy conference in Germany were hospitalised today after ingesting a hallucinogenic drug.

German broadcaster NDR said the men and woman who took the drug were staggering, rolling in a meadow, talking gibberish and suffering severe cramps.

Over a hundred medical staff and police attended the scene in the town of Handeloh to treat the patients who were aged between 24 and 56.

Some were suffering from breathing problems or delusions. Deutsche Welle reports a number were in a serious condition.

Tests reveal the patients had all taken the drug 2C-E, also known as Aquarust. It is unclear at present whether this was some kind of joint experiment or a dangerous prank.
