Elderly woman dies in Wicklow house fire

Gardaí are not treating the incident as suspicious.

A WOMAN IN her early 70s has died in a house fire in Bray, Co Wicklow in the early hours of this morning.

It is understood that the fire started at approximately 1.20am this morning at the house in Waverly Terrace. Two other people, a male and female both in their 80s were also in the house at the time.

They were not injured in the fire but gardaí said that as a precaution they were taken to Loughlinstown Hospital.

The scene has been preserved and a technical examination will take place today but gardaí say they are not treating the incident as suspicious.
