Man and woman in their 60s killed in Tipperary crash

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital.

A MAN AND WOMAN in their 60s have been killed in a car crash this evening in Nenagh, County Tipperary.

They two were fatally injured when the car they were travelling in was involved in a collision with a second car. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

A male passenger in his 20s who was also in the car was seriously injured and taken to the Midwest Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The female driver in her 30s of the second car was uninjured.

The accident  happened on the N52 near Grange in Nenagh at approximately 5.20pm this evening.

This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place. It is expected to remain closed overnight.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to this collision to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067-50450, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
