Poll: Should the top rate of income tax or the USC be cut in the next Budget?

Which cut would be more beneficial for you?

THE GOVERNMENT COALITION is reported to be split about whether they should cut the higher rate of income tax or the Universal Social Charge in the next Budget.

Decisions, decisions

The Sunday Independent reports today that Fine Gael’s John Deasy says the USC is bigger than the water charges issue and that if they don’t tackle it head on, they’ll suffer come the next election.

While in an ideal world we would love to see taxes and the USC both reduced, we want to know which one you would choose to be cut. What move would be the most beneficial and which reduction would impact your take home cash at the end of the month?

Poll: Should the top rate of income tax or the USC be cut in the next Budget?

Poll Results:

USC (8326)
The higher rate of income tax (1286)
I don't know (402)
