Open thread: Where is your favourite place in Ireland to go on holidays?

More people are choosing to stay in Ireland for their main holiday. Where should they go?

A SURVEY HAS found people are increasingly deciding to stay in Ireland for their main holiday.

The survey by Jurys Inn found more than a third of us consider a staycation to be healthier for our wallets. Three quarter of us have had a holiday at home with affordability, flexibility of staying local and the convenience of being close to family and friends being cited as the main reasons.

People also like avoiding all that waiting around in the airport and the luggage restrictions.

With so many of us deciding to holiday in Ireland there must some decent places to visit and stay.

Tell us your favourite places in Ireland to go on holidays – the best views, the best food, the best accommodation, the best craic…
