Football fan dies after falling at Ireland match

Police are not investigating the circumstances of his death as suspicious.

A YOUNG FOOTBALL fan has died after falling in a stairwell at Celtic Park at the Ireland v Scotland Euro 2016 qualifier.

Today a police spokesperson confirmed that a 22-year-old man was injured after falling following the footballs match. They said he had been taken to hospital in Glasgow.

BBC reports that the man later died of his injuries and that police do not consider the circumstances of his death suspicious.

The police spokesperson said they could not confirm whether the man was an Irish fan but reports suggest he had been in the Scottish section of the grounds.
