TG4's new dating show is basically a real-life version of Horse Outside

Fitzi drives a Mitzi…

REMEMBER WHEN TG4 tried its hand at a dating show as Gaeilge and brought us the wonder that is Paisean Faisean? Remember that?

Well they’re at it again with Pioc Do Ride, a mashup of Pimp My Ride and Room Raiders starting tomorrow night.

Pioc do Ride presenter Aine Goggins TG4 TG4

Hosted by Áine Goggins, Pioc Do Ride will see one single guy or girl examining the cars of three lovely lads/ladies to get insights into their personalities, then choose one as their date – basically the premise of Rubberbandits’ Horse Outside.

And everyone’s worst nightmare, because who wants someone going through the shite in their car?

Once the couple has been introduced, the tables are turned, and the driver has to choose a €250 date, or a €250 voucher for Advanced Pitstop.

As you can see, there are plenty of opportunities for complete mortification there.

The first episode sees Derry girl Corey choosing between three lads – cocky Adam, who has a silver Renault Megane; boy racer Paddy, a complete character who drives a suped-up BMW, and Irish dancer Liam, who has a ‘shitbox’ Peugeot.

Who will Corey choose? Well, you’ll have to tune in to TG4 tomorrow at 10pm and see.
