Irish man found beaten and unconscious on Boston street

The man is now in hospital where his condition is described as serious.

AN IRISH MAN is in serious condition after being badly beaten and left for dead in a neighbourhood in Boston.

The man, who is in his 30s, was discovered unconscious on a street in Adams Village the early hours of Sunday morning local time, Irish Central reports.

He is currently at Boston Medical Center where he is described as being in serious condition.

Boston police are withholding the identity of the man but it is understood that he is originally from Cobh, Co Cork and lives with his wife and young daughter just blocks from where the assault took place.

The incident is under investigation and police are looking for witnesses in the area at the time to contact them.
