Irish tourist dies after balcony fall in the Canaries

The man in his 40s fell from a balcony in the apartment he was staying in on the island of Tenerife.

AN IRISH TOURIST has died after he fell from the balcony of a holiday apartment on the Canary Island of Tenerife.

The man in his 40s fell from a balcony in the early hours of this morning with local police currently investigating the incident.

The thirty-foot fall left the man unconscious and emergency services were not able to revive him when they arrived on the scene.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is providing consular assistance to the deceased man’s family through its embassy in Madrid.
