Irish man found dead in Thailand

The man was found dead on Sunday.

THE DEPARTMENT OF Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is providing consular assistance to the family of an Irish man who died in Thailand.

The man has been named as 68-year-old Fintan Brett from Sligo. He was found dead in his apartment in the city of Buriram yesterday morning.

Local media reports that police have ruled his death an accident, but friends of the deceased are questioning that assertion

Today’s Irish Daily Star quotes a friend of the man as saying that “none of his friends believes the police story”, adding that the deceased had serious head injuries.
