Gun seized 'after being pulled on Irish Water worker'

Gardaí say that nobody was arrested in the incident.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an incident that saw a firearm seized at a house in Louth yesterday.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed to TheJournal.ie that the investigation was ongoing.

“Gardai in Ardee, County Louth are investigating an incident which occurred outside a house at Home Farm, Townparks, Ardee on the 28 October at approximately 9.20am.

“A firearm was seized and no one was injured. No arrests and investigations are ongoing.”

Today’s Irish Star reports that the gun was pulled on an Irish Water worker who was working in the area. The worker accidentally wandered onto land, being confronted by the owner shortly after with a legally-held shotgun.
