Irishman missing overboard from Caribbean cruise ship

The search is concentrated near the Puerto Rican island of Vieques.

THE US COAST Guard is searching for a missing cruise ship passenger from Ireland suspected of going overboard near Puerto Rico.

Spokesman Ricardo Castrodad said has said that 67-year-old Dominic William O’Carroll is believed to have gone missing just south of the Puerto Rican island of Vieques.

The ‘Croisières de France’ Horizon cruise ship was traveling from the Dominican Republic to St. Maarten.

The man, who is believed to have been travelling alone, had been seen on cruise ship cameras at about 5am on Monday morning.

Castrodad said that a crew member had seen something going overboard. 

Later during a head count, O’Carroll was found to be missing.
