Irishman seriously ill following stabbing in Spain

The 17 year old man was attacked in a bar in Benidorm on the Costa Blanca

A 17 YEAR old Irishman remains seriously ill in hospital, following a stabbing in Benidorm, Spain.

Martin Murphy received multiple stab wounds in The Monsoon Bar on the Costa Blanca resort on Sunday evening. A 33 year old man has been arrested in connection with the attack.

In a separate incident, the day before a North African migrant was beaten up by a group of Irishmen. Detectives are investigating whether Murphy may have been the victim of a revenge attack.

Four men and one woman were charged in relation to the attack.
