Is this a UFO in the skies over Wicklow?

Strange looking objects appeared in the skies in Wicklow and Kildare yesterday….

THOSE LOOKING TO the skies in Wicklow and Kildare yesterday may have noticed something strange appearing before there eyes . But it wasn’t UFOs descending on Ireland, rather it was some unusual and spectacular looking cloud formations.

The cloud formations are known as lenticular clouds which according to Irish Weather Online are stationary lens-shaped clouds that form at high altitudes, and are normally aligned perpendicular to the direction of the wind.

The more scientific name is altocumulus lenticularis but whatever you call them, there’s no doubt they’re pretty spectacular:
