Labour Senator Jimmy Harte found with serious head injuries in Dublin

Harte is in Beaumont Hospital and is believed to be in a serious condition.

LABOUR PARTY SENATOR Jimmy Harte was found in the early hours of this morning with serious head injuries.

Senator Harte who is from Letterkenny, County Donegal was found at at Newmarket Square in Dublin at about 4am.

He was taken to St James’s Hospital but later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where he is said to be in a serious condition.

Harte had earlier attended the Ireland versus Latvia football match at the Aviva Stadium.

Kevin Street Garda Station is carrying out an investigation and is trying to establish the cause of the injuries.

A Labour Party spokesperson said that Harte was in a critical condition.

He said Harte’s Labour Party colleagues are all very concerned for him and that many have been in touch with people that are close to Senator Harte. He added that they all hoped he would recover soon.
