WE’VE HAD POSTER wars, independents who can’t spell independent, and some unusual election campaigns – but we haven’t had many, if any, songs.

Thankfully one member of the Healy-Rae political dynasty has been quick to satisfy the Irish public’s appetite for one.

Johnny Healy-Rae has released this short country-western style piece outlining reasons why the people of Co Kerry should give him a vote in the upcoming local elections.

Important points of his campaign outlined in the video include:

No problem is too big for him, cos he’s a Healy-Rae.
Give him any motion, or problem you need solved, ask good ol’ Johnny, and he’ll answer cos he’s sound.
The Bishop said he’d vote for him.
