THE BRITISH JOURNALIST captured by the Islamic State has released a second video, warning that the West faces “another Vietnam” in their war with the Islamic State.

John Cantlie has claimed that he has been “abandoned” by the British government after being captured by Islamic militants two years ago.

Last Thursday, he said that he was going to “expose the truth” about the group.

In the second video, which again features Cantlie seated at a desk in an orange jumpsuit and reading flatly from a script.

He says that the West in “hastily marching towards all-out war in Iraq and Syria without paying heed to lessons of the recent past.”

The “Lend Me Your Ears” video quotes former CIA officer Michael Scheuer in saying that US President Barack Obama is incapable or unwilling to end the war with the Islamic State group.

“Not since Vietnam have we witnessed such a potential mess in the making.”

He says that the US has “underestimated the strength and fighting zeal of the Islamic State”, saying that they have “more than 15,000″ troops.
