Kenny and Sarkozy exchange 'strong words' over corporate tax rate

The new Irish leader and his French counterpart are understood to have clashed at the EU summit in Brussels.

TAOISEACH ENDA KENNY and French President Nicolas Sarkozy are reported to have exchanged ‘strong words’ over the issue of Ireland’s corporate tax rate at an EU summit in Brussels.

RTE reports that France is pushing Ireland to be flexible on the issue of its corporate tax rate in exchange for flexibility on the terms of the EU/IMF bailout, which Ireland’s new government is a seeking renegotiation of.
