Man injured after footbridge collapse over UK motorway

Police said it is believed a lorry collided with the pedestrian bridge.

A MOTORCYCLIST HAS been injured after a bridge over a motorway in England collapsed.

The incident occurred over the M20 in Kent just after noon. Kent Fire and Rescue said crews administered first aid to a male motorcyclist who was removed to hospital by the ambulance service.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Images from the scene show a large section of the footbridge lying on the ground and a truck with extensive damage to the top of its trailer. The rest of the footbridge remained in place.

Kent Police said it is believed the lorry collided with the pedestrian bridge before it collapsed.

No one else is believed to have been injured.
