Two killed after car collides with truck near the Ring of Kerry

The collision happened this afternoon on the Cahirciveen to Ballinskelligs road.

TWO PEOPLE WERE killed when a car and a truck collided close to the Ring of Kerry this afternoon.

The man and woman who were both in their 20s were killed when the car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Cloon on the Cahirciveen to Ballinskelligs road.

They were the sole occupants of the car and were pronounced dead at the scene before their bodies were removed to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The stretch of road has been closed by Gardaí and local diversions are in place.
