Man to appear in court charged with death of elderly Kerry farmer

The man was killed when his car was struck by a teleporter.

A MAN IN his 60s will appear before Tralee District Court today charged with the death of an elderly Kerry farmer.

The man, named as 74-year-old Anthony O’Mahony, was killed when his car was struck by a teleporter in Rattoo, Ballyduff, Co Kerry yesterday morning.

The driver of the teleporter was not injured.

A teleporter – also known as telescopic handler – is a lifting vehicle used widely in construction or agriculture.

A man in his 60s was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Listowel Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. He will appear before the court today.
