Two men charged after massive drugs raid in two counties

TWO MEN HAVE been charged in connection with a massive seizure of drugs in two counties.

Gardaí seized almost €1 million worth of heroin, cocaine, and cannabis in separate raids in Kildare and Dublin on Wednesday evening.

The two men (aged 34 and 40) appeared before Blanchardstown District Court this morning. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A third man, aged 22, who had been arrested was released from custody without charge.

They were arrested for drug trafficking offences in the initial raid in Kildare which saw two cars stopped and searched at Newlands Cross.

Heroin with an estimated street value of €600,000 was seized.

Follow-up searches in both Kildare and Dublin resulted in large amounts of cocaine and cannabis also being found.

All told, €900,000 worth of illegal substances were seized in the various raids.
