Man killed in crash after he was hit while walking in rural Galway

The crash happened this morning in Kilkieran.

A MAN has been killed after he was struck by a vehicle in rural Galway.

The collision happened at about 11am this morning on the R340 near the Gaeltacht town of Kilkieran.

The man in his 40s was walking at the above location when he was struck by the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene according to gardaí.

The road is closed for investigations and any witnesses are asked to contact gardaí in Clifden.
