WE’RE WELL USED to seeing the Kardashian-Jenner clan on their reality show on E!, but a new side of its main star Kim Kardashian was shown today.
She gave an honest and touching interview with Today about her stepfather Bruce Jenner, who announced at the weekend that he is transitioning to becoming a woman.
Prior to his announcement, US tabloids and celebrity magazines had been rife not only with speculation about Jenner’s gender, but about the family’s reaction to the news.
In today’s interview, Kim Kardashian put the rumours to rest, saying that reports claiming they don’t support Jenner are “all really so made up”.
I’m really happy for him that he is living his life the way he wants to live it. And that he has found inner peace and just pure happiness. That’s what life is about.
I think as long as he is happy and he wants to live his life however he wants to live it, that just makes me happy.
She said that Jenner’s ex-wife Kris Jenner and his children from his different marriages are going through an “adjustment”, and are undergoing family therapy.
“Is it a hard adjustment, yes,” she acknowledged, adding that until Jenner has fully transitioned, they will continue to refer to him using a male pronoun.
“He’s done a really good job of walking us through it,” Kardashian told Today of Jenner’s transition.
