Elderly man threatened at knife-point and locked in room

The man was threatened by a lone raider at a house in Malahide, in the middle of the afternoon.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING, after a 78-year-old man was threatened with a knife and then locked in a room during an aggravated burglary in north Dublin.

It happened yesterday afternoon at around 3 or 3.30pm, at a house on Old Street in Malahide.

The man was threatened by a lone, knife-wielding raider, who then left the house with a small quantity of jewellery.

The victim wasn’t injured in the incident.

Gardai in Malahide are appealing for witnesses. They can be reached on 01 6664600.
