Teenager threatened at knifepoint in her bedroom

The man threatened her and told her to stay in the room as he stole a laptop.

POLICE IN BELFAST have issued an appeal for information after a 19-year-old girl was threatened at knifepoint in the bedroom of her flat.

The attack happened on Friday afternoon in the Ireton Road area.

According to the PSNI, a man entered the bedroom at around 2.45pm armed with a knife.

He threatened the woman and told her to stay in the room as he stole a laptop.

He’s described as being:

  • 5’7 tall
  • With short brown hair
  • Wearing a blue and white checked shirt
  • Dark trousers
  • And carrying a bright pink rucksack

“There were two other burglaries in the area that day. A tablet and camera was stolen from premises in the India Street area, while a games console and games were taken from a house in the Ireton Street area,” Detective Constable Anita Cummings said.

“A knife was left behind at this address.

“I would ask anyone with any information about any of these incidents to contact detectives in Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
