Teenage driver killed in two-car crash

Two women were also treated for injuries, but were released from hospital.

GARDAÍ IN LEITRIM are investigating a crash in Leitrim that left a teenager dead.

Gardaí are investigating a two-car collision which occurred on the Ballinamore to Swanlinbar Road (R202) at around 7pm last night. The incident happened in the townland of Lissacairn, around four miles from Swanlinbar.

An 18-year-old man, who was driver and sole occupant of one car, was taken to Enniskillen Hospital where he was later pronounced dead in early hours of this morning. Two female occupants of the second vehicle were taken to Enniskillen Hospital and later released.

The road is currently closed for a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
