Leo Varadkar is off the booze for January

The Minister is taking part in the Irish Heart Foundation’s abstinence campaign.

HEALTH MINISTER LEO Varadkar is taking part in the Irish Heart Foundation’s On The Dry campaign this month.

The minister was at press launch today with Leinster rugby star Kevin McLaughlin and RTÉ weather presenter Nuala Carey to promote the campaign which aims to raise money for the fight against heart disease and stroke.

Not shy of courting publicity, the Fine Gael TD adopted a Superman-like pose to reveal his t-shirt:

The campaign is pretty simple: you go the whole of January without taking any alcohol on board.

Varadkar is partial to the odd pint, but it’s just tea and water for the next two weeks.
