Man in his 50s dies after car goes into ditch

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination.

GARDAÍ IN CHARLEVILLE in Cork are investigating after a man died in a single-vehicle crash.

The fatal collision occurred at Ballincolly, Kilmallock, County Limerick at around 1.30am this morning.

A male driver in his 50s was fatally injured when his car collided with a ditch. He was the only occupant of the car. His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Charleville Garda Station on 063-21770, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
