Pedestrian (44) dies after being hit by a car in Limerick early this morning

The collision happened on Main Street in Hospital.

A MAN HAS died after he was struck by a car in Hospital, Co Limerick in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at about 2.10 am on Main Street in the town with the 44-year-old fatally injured in the collision.

No other persons were injured in the crash with gardaí saying that the road remains closed with local diversions in place.

Investigations are being led by gardaí from Bruff who are advising any witnesses to contact them at the station on on 061-382940 or through the Garda Confidential Line on 1-800-666-111.
