Pics: Props from Lincoln film to be auctioned for Wicklow Hospice

Organisers hope to raise funds for building a new stand alone hospice in Brittas Bay with the help of one of its patrons, Daniel Day-Lewis.

PROPS FROM THE forthcoming Daniel Day-Lewis film Lincoln are to be auctioned off at the Irish premiere in Dublin this week.

Director Steven Spielberg donated props from the film to be sold for charity next Sunday at its premiere at the Savoy Cinema in Dublin.

Proceeds from the auction will go to Wicklow Hospice Foundation of which Day-Lewis is a patron. Lincoln has been nominated for 12 Oscars next month and last night Day-Lewis scooped Best Actor at the Golden Globes.

Items available for bidding include a handmade knife, white gloves, miniature soldiers and a leather-bound hardback copy of the shooting script signed by Day-Lewis, Spielberg and others involved in the film:

The charity has agreed to accept email bids in advance of Sunday’s gala event and more information can be found on its website.
