CUSTOMS OFFICIALS HAVE seized liquid cocaine with an estimated value of almost €115,000 from a 64-year-old man at Dublin Airport.

The man from Bolivia had arrived into Dublin on a flight from Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday when he was stopped by customs officials who suspected that he had ingested cocaine.

After being handed over to gardaí, the man later produced 39 packages filled with liquid cocaine.

The man appeared at the Criminal Courts of Justice yesterday and was remanded in custody by Judge Patricia McNamara. He is due to appear in Cloverhill Court next Thursday.
