Funeral of young woman who died after 'falling ill in restaurant' taking place today

THE FUNERAL OF a young woman who reportedly fell ill in a fast food restaurant last week is due to take place today.

Lisa Niland (19) died in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin on Friday after being transferred from Sligo University Hospital.

Sligo Today reports that she became ill while at a restaurant in Carraroe.

Lisa, a student at University of Limerick, was from Drimbane, Curry, Co Sligo. Her family have said they are heartbroken at her death.

Lisa was a GAA supporter and her uncle John is a local refereeindepedent

. A minute’s silence was observed in her memory at a match between Sligo and Leitrim on Sunday.

She will be laid to rest in Bunnacrannagh Cemetery, following mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Curry at noon.
