Teenager arrested after body of woman found in Kerry

The deceased is a woman in her 50s. Her body was found in a house near Lixnaw.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a 19-year-old man following the discovery of a body in county Kerry this morning.

The deceased is a woman in her 50s. She was found by a neighbour after 10am today at a house at Ballinageragh, Lixnaw. Gardai say that the woman’s body showed signs of injury and that it remains at the scene ahead of a forensic examination later this evening.

The young man was arrested a short time later and has been detained at Listowel Garda Station for questioning.

Anyone who might have seen anything unusual around the Listowel areas earlier this morning are asked to contact gardai at Listowel on 068-50820, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
