Poll: Do you think a living wage of €11.70 is enough?

The current housing crisis, and associated increases in rent levels, has been the main driver of the increased wage rate.

THE LIVING WAGE for 2017 has increased to €11.70 per hour – up 20c from last year.

The Living Wage Technical Group, which is made up of researchers and academics, says the cost of food, clothing, health insurance and social inclusion all reduced in 2017 but the savings were undone by rising rents.

In Dublin, rent accounts for almost half (47%) of a single person’s living costs and increased by over €15 per week, on average.

So today we’re asking, do you think a living wage of €11.70 is enough?
