British police release image of Khalid Masood in appeal for information

The total number of victims who have died has now reached four.

Updated at 3.30pm

BRITISH POLICE HAVE released an image of the London attacker as part of an appeal for information about the man’s motivation, preparation and his associates.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Mark Rowley said they are looking to hear from anyone who knew Khalid Masood well.

“There might well be people out there who did have concerns about Masood but weren’t sure or didn’t feel comfortable for whatever reason in passing information to us.

“I urge anyone with such information to contact us the anti-terrorist hotline which is 0800 789 321.”

Other arrests

Earlier today, two significant arrests were made in connection with the Westminster attack in London on Wednesday, UK police have said.

This brings to five people dead (including the attacker) and left over 30 in need of hospital treatment.

At a press conference this morning, counter-terror chief Mark Rowley also identified the latest victim who died in hospital overnight as 75-year-old Leslie Rhodes from Streatham, south London.

His death brought to four the total number of victims who have died as a result of the attack.

The attacker, identified as Khalid Masood, drove his car into crowds of people on Westminster Bridge on Wednesday afternoon, killing two and wounding several others, before stabbing a police officer to death at the Houses of Parliament.

He was shot dead by police.

Rowley also said that the birth name of Khalid Masood is Adrian Russell Ajao.

Rowley said two police officers targeted in the attack have significant injuries. Two other people also remain in critical condition, one with life-threatening injuries.
