A small fishing village is waking up to news that there's a €2m Lotto winner among them

Kilmore Quay in Wexford has about 300 residents.

A WEXFORD FISHING village is said to be “gripped with excitement” after last night’s €2 million Lotto jackpot was won in the town.

The Mace Burrows store in Kilmore Quay, Co. Wexford sold the winning ticket yesterday and store owner John Brady has said that he is in “absolute shock” at the win.

“We are a small family owned store in Kilmore Quay and this is our first big lottery win,” Brady told the National Lottery.

“The only thing that keeps this store going is our incredibly loyal local customers who keep the business ticking over all year round. Knowing that one of these people who we see on a daily basis is waking up with a Lotto ticket worth €2 million is just fantastic.”

Brady also says that many local residents have been coming to the store already to check their tickets. The village has about 300 residents.

The €2 million jackpot win last night comes on the heels of a €2.9 million winner on Wednesday, where the winning ticket was sold in Cavan.

Last night’s winning numbers were:
