Louise McSharry will be back on air this month

The 31-year-old is cancer-free and will return to her role presenting The Louise McSharry show for 2fm.

WE ARE HAPPY to tell you RTÉ 2fm presenter Louise McSharry will return to the airwaves on Sunday 19 April.

Louise took time off from her role presenting The Louise McSharry Show after she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year.

For the last six months she has been receiving treatment and has remained positive throughout that challenging time. On Daffodil Day, much to our delight, she announced she was given the all clear.

Speaking on Tubridy this morning, the 31-year-old thanked everyone who supported her through her treatment.

I would like to say thank you to everyone online, and people who have sent me post, and people who have made the effort to get in contact with me – there are so many of them in Ireland and abroad – who made the experience so much easier than it might have been.

She also confirmed she’ll be back on air later this month.

“I’m really, really excited and a little bit nervous!”

Head of RTÉ 2fm Dan Healy described Louise as “a fighter and a strong woman”, adding that everyone at RTÉ is over the moon to have her back with them healthy, happy and ready to get back on air. And we couldn’t agree more.

As always, all of us at TheJournal.ie, DailyEdge.ie and The 42 are sending our love and best wishes to Louise. We can’t wait to hear her lovely voice on the radio again.
