Three men and a woman arrested after robbery of Louth post office

The Clogherhead post office was robbed in May.

GARDAÍ IN LOUTH investigating a robbery at a post office in May have arrested four people.

Three men, aged 30, 33 and 42 and a woman aged 23 were arrested in the Louth area this morning. They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended at Balbriggan, Dundalk, Drogheda and Navan Garda Stations.

Three men, one in possession of a firearm, entered the post office at Clogherhead on 3 May, threatened staff, and fled the scene with a large amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

A number of premises were searched this morning in the Drogheda area in connection with this investigation, leading to the arrests.
