Car hack: Lower your seat to lower your speed

Want that feeling of speed with out putting the foot down? This car hack shows you how.

ACCORDING TO TOM Vanderbilt, who wrote the book Traffic: Why We Drive the Way We Do (and What It Says About Us), drivers who sit high up in their seat feel as if they are driving slower than they actually are.

Those who drive cars with an elevated driving position, for example SUVs, which are the vehicles most likely to rollover in a highway crash, drive faster because they perceive they are driving much slower than what the speedometer reads.

Therefore, to get the sensation that you are driving faster than you actually are, lower your seat. It’s a simple trick that may help you reduce your speed and avoid getting a speeding ticket.
