Cyclist taken to hospital after being hit by Luas near Heuston Station

Red line services were affected as a result of the collision.

A CYCLIST HAS been taken to hospital by ambulance after they were struck by a Luas tram at Stephen’s Lane near Heuston Station.

As a result of the incident the Luas red line had been operating only between Tallaght/Saggart to the Blackhorse stop in Inchicore. Services running from Blackhorse into the city centre had been temporarily stopped but are now operating as normal.

The collision between the cyclist and the Luas is being investigated by gardaí and Luas officials.

The Dublin Fire Brigade was also at the scene but has since left.
